I'm a senior full-stack engineer and tech lead in Zagreb, and I genuinely love building software. Since 2015, across 20+ projects in banking, telecom, public transit and enterprise security, I've shipped real-time chat for banking apps, led Zoom-style video calls for a virtual conference platform at the height of COVID-19, and built one codebase shared by web, iOS and Android. Along the way I've learned what it takes to ship software that lasts. Today I'm the co-founder and CTO of Kord, a multi-tenant SaaS platform where security and data isolation come first. I designed and built the web app, the API, the infrastructure and every third-party integration it runs on.
WHAT I DO
I build end to end: web apps, hybrid mobile apps in React Native, APIs, databases and the cloud infrastructure underneath. I lead hands-on, too. I helped set Infinum's MVVM standard for Android, taught Productive's engineers TypeScript and coached Toptal's team on writing tests that actually catch bugs. As tech lead at SandboxAQ, I rolled out TypeScript, ESLint and structured code review across teams. Today my edge is architecture built for AI: clear contracts, strict types, shared schemas and real tests, so AI agents write high-quality code from day one and I deliver what used to take a whole team, without lowering the bar.
SKILLS
WEB
TypeScript is where I'm most fluent: React and TypeScript since 2018, starting at Infinum. I led Productive's move from JavaScript to TypeScript in a large Ember app, built Toptal's Electron desktop app for its freelancers, and today build Kord's web app and Alma Sfera's booking site: accessible components on React Aria, forms on TanStack Form with Zod, and a Storybook story for every component. Outside TypeScript, my favorite stack is Elixir with Phoenix LiveView, for the speed it gives me from idea to production.

BACKEND
Kord's API runs on Bun and PostgreSQL, with Zod contracts declared once and shared end to end. A renamed field fails the build instead of breaking a screen in production. Every hour is priced when its shift is saved, so a closed month never moves. At SandboxAQ, I put AQtive Guard's integrations with AWS, CrowdStrike and ServiceNow behind one pattern for retries, rate limiting and errors. I moved the long-running work onto async pipelines on Redis Queue, Temporal and Kafka, and swapped the ORM's SQL for targeted raw SQL on the hottest GraphQL queries.

INFRASTRUCTURE
Great engineering is knowing what not to build. I design systems that handle real load on lean infrastructure and save the complexity for problems that genuinely need it. I run Kord and Alma Sfera in production myself: a git tag runs the full test suite, builds the Docker images and ships them behind nginx and Cloudflare, with hourly backups and a daily restore check. At SandboxAQ I set up a new service's infrastructure with the DevOps team on Kubernetes and Terraform.

AI
I built kormanjonac, an AI engineering setup on Claude Code with house rules, 10+ skills and a shared knowledge base of recipes reused across every project. It plans features with me, draws the designs on a canvas, builds in parallel and opens pull requests with tests that I review and merge. It learns from every correction, runs a weekly review of its own work, cleans up after itself and works inside a sandbox, so it moves fast without breaking production.

HOBBIES
When I'm not coding, you'll find me at a board game night, gaming, at the gym, playing music, or building a side project just for fun.
